Sebastien Levigne

Sebastien Levigne was born in Rochefort sure Mer, France in 1975 and spent most of his life in the west of France. He was formally educated as a chemical engineer and obtained a Ph.D in biochemistry. During the early years of his career, he developed his own self taught artistic style and eventually chose painting over chemistry. The inspiration of his work comes from other artists such as de Stael, Buffet and Roy, however his main inspiration and guidance came from a close friend and his daughter. His work is abstract and focuses on the theme of ”Walls” and the traces left by man in the world. He feels that every painting tells its own story, more or less hidden, and that viewers will create their own interpretation of the history of the piece from their life experience. He has exhibited his work at the Affordable Art Fair in London in 2010 and Affordable Art Made in NY in 2011. His works have also been exhibited at theFour Pontet 2010 amd the Museum of Bresssuire in 2010.
